Transfer Limits

MICROchip makes cross-cloud transfer convenient and easy, but there are some limitations you should note in order to transfer folders / files accurately. For example, it is better not to have special characters in folder / file names like \ / *:? <> | ”~ $ And you should know the size limit of each cloud drive. In particular you might notice that there are some Office file conversions when transferring with Google Drive, and there is a request limit in OneDrive. More details please check the following information.

Council

On most cloud drives, a folder / file name cannot contain any of the following characters: \ / *:? <> | "

Dropbox

1. In Dropbox, a folder / file name cannot start with any of the following characters: ~ $

2. The file / folder name does not support the following specific characters: \ /:? * "|

3. In Dropbox, invalid folder names include: "." , "..".

4. The folder name cannot be empty.

5. TMP files cannot start with the invalid character ~ (for example, ~ file.tmp).

6. The number of characters in the folder / file name cannot exceed 240 characters.

7. Ignored files: .dropbox.attr, .dropbox, .ds_store, desktop.ini, thumbs.db

Google Drive / G Suite Google Drive

1. Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Drawing and Script files will be converted to corresponding files with extensions: .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .jpeg and .json when transferring from Google Drive to other cloud drives.

2. It will not be able to transfer files with the same names in the same directory from Google Drive to other cloud drives.

3. For Google Drive, you should notice that there are some folders / files with special characters in their names that you may not be able to transfer from Google Drive to other cloud drives.

OneDrive

1. You can only make a certain number of requests (2000 ~ 3000) to OneDrive each day per user, otherwise you will get the error: request mechanism limited.

2. It does not support files / folders starting with "."

3. The file / folder name does not support the following specific characters: \ /:? * "|

4. Unable to upload file with no dimensions (zero file).

5. It does not support files with the following extensions:
".Ashx", ".asmx", ".asp", ".aspq", ".axd", ".cshtm", ".chtml", ".json", ".rem", ".shtm", ".Shtml", ".soap", ".stm", ".svc", ".vbhtm", ".vbhtml", ".xamlx"

6. Folder name not allowed: "COM1", "COM2", "COM3", "COM4", "COM5", "COM6", "COM7", "COM8", "COM9", "LPT1", "LPT2" , “LPT3”, “LPT4”, “LPT5”, “LPT6”, “LPT7”, “LPT8”, “LPT9”, “PRN”, “AUX”, “NUL”, “CON”.

7. It does not support folder names with more than 375 characters.

OneDrive for business

1. The file / folder name does not support the following specific characters: \ #% *: <>? / \\ |

2. The folder / file name cannot end with a space and the invalid character "."

3. The folder / file name is limited to 400 characters.

4. Folder / file name cannot start with space.

5. The folder / file name cannot be blank without title.

6. Folder names cannot end with: ".files", "_files", "_Dateien", "_fichiers", "_bestanden", "_file", "_archivos", "_filer", "_tiedostot", "_pliki "," _Soubory "," _elemei "," _ficheiros "," _arquivos "," _dosyalar "," _datoteke "," _fitxers "," _failid "," _fails "," _bylos "," _fajlovi "," _fitxategiak ".

7. Files cannot have the following extensions: ".ascx", ".soap", ".asmx", ".svc", ".aspx", ".xamlx", ".htc", ".files" , ".Jar", ".one", ".master", ".onepkg", ".swf", ".onetoc", ".xap", ".onetoc2", ".laccdb", ".xsf" , ".Tmp", ".ashx", ".tpm", ".json"

8. Folder name not allowed: "COM1", "COM2", "COM3", "COM4", "COM5", "COM6", "COM7", "COM8", "COM9", "LPT1", "LPT2" , "LPT3", "LPT4", "LPT5", "LPT6", "LPT7", "LPT8", "LPT9", "PRN", "AUX", "NUL", "CON"

9. File name cannot contain “..”.

Box

1. Free Box accounts can upload 250MB files.

2. Developer accounts can upload 2GB files.

3. In Box, the folder / file name does not support invalid characters: / and \

4. Invalid folder names: "." , ".."

5. Folder names cannot end in a space.

6. Folder names cannot be blank.

7. Folder names are limited to 255 characters.

8. The file cannot be named "." , And "-"

9. The file name cannot be empty.

10. File names are limited to 250 characters.

Amazon S3

1. For Amazon S3, you should notice that there are some folders / files with special characters in their names that you may not be able to transfer from Amazon S3 to other cloud drives.

2. In Amazon S3, the folder / file name cannot be "." And "…"

3. The folder / file name cannot contain invalid characters "/", "."

4. The folder / file name cannot be blank.

Sugarsync

1. In SugarSync, some directories are read-only, so you can't stream files to them which are public files and shared folders.

2. It is not possible to create folders or upload files to root directories in SugarSync.

3. Files cannot be created or uploaded to the “Received Actions” and “Public Links” directories.

Google Photos

1. Photo file extensions supported by Google Photos: .jpg, .png, .webp
Maximum file size: 200 MB

2. Media file extensions supported by Google Photos: .3gp, .3g2, .asf, .avi, .divx, .m2t, .m2ts, .m4v, .mkv, .mmv, .mod, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .mts, .tod, .wmv
Maximum file size: 10 GB

Mega

1. In Mega, the folder / file name cannot be blank.

2. Folder / file name cannot contain invalid characters / and \

Evernote

1. Only files smaller than 50MB can be uploaded to the note.

2. Cannot rename or delete note content files (.ENML).

3. Can only copy notes to notebook.

4. It does not support the tag.

5. Root directories and second level directories do not support uploading files, but you can create folders.

6. A different Evernote account has different upload data traffic.

hubiC

1. In hubiC, the size of a single file cannot exceed 5 GB for the transfer.

2. File sizes are different for different users.

3. A hubiC account can only be added once.

4. It is not possible to rename and cut files or folders.

5. It may be a bit slow to delete folders with many files.

6. File names cannot exceed 248 characters and folder names are limited to 256 characters.

ADrive

1. Adrive's Premium / Business account can use FTP, SFTP, SCP, Rsync or Java (“upload directory”) to upload a single file up to 16GB.

2. Normal Adrive accounts are limited to a single file up to 2GB.

3. Supports adding Adrive to MICROchip via FTP and WebDav.

FTP / FTPS / SFTP

1. In FTP / FTPS / SFTP, you cannot upload files to directories that require corresponding authorization.

2. Make sure you have read / write permissions before file operations, otherwise MICROchip may not be able to transfer files to your FTP.

3. Make sure there is enough space for your operations. We are temporarily unable to identify its size.

4. In FTP, the folder / file name cannot contain the invalid characters * / \ ”<>? | :

5. The folder / file name cannot start / end with the invalid character "."

6. The folder / file name cannot be blank.

Baidu

1. The file / folder name does not support the following specific characters: \ #% *: <>? / \ |

2. Baidu opens only the read / write permissions for the “lin1118” folder located in the “my application data” folder.

3. MICROchip cannot perform any operations on the Image, Document, Video and Music directories, it can only preview files in the four directories.

NAS

Some NAS providers do not grant users permissions to change the root directory. In this case, such operations are not available in the root directory: create folder, rename file, delete file, upload file, etc.

MediaFire

1. MediaFire does not support uploading and downloading of blank files.

2. Files with the same content cannot exist at the same time.

3. If the folder contains many files it takes a long time to open.

flickr

1. You can only transfer images or videos to Flickr.

2. Folders can only be transferred to the “Albums” directory and cannot have subdirectories.

3. Files can only be transferred to the “My Photostream” or Album directory you created yourself.

4. All your files can be found in the “My Photostream” directory.

5. The album All files are “My Photostream” reference files in the directory.

6. When you delete a file from the Album, in fact, you simply remove the file.

7. When you delete a file in “My Photostream”, the file corresponding to the album directory will be deleted.

8. The album directory must contain at least one file.

9. When an album is created, a recently managed image is added by default.

10. In the integer key, the query number must be less than 3600.

11. Files uploaded or downloaded from the official Flickr website cannot show the suffix name. But the files downloaded from MICROchip can manually add the corresponding suffix name.

12. Cannot upload videos larger than 1GB.

13. Cannot upload photos larger than 200MB.

CloudMe

1. Make sure you have read / write permissions before file operations, otherwise MICROchip may not be able to transfer files to your CloudMe.

2. Make sure there is enough space for your operations. We are temporarily unable to identify its size.

3. The free CloudMe account storage space is 3GB. The upload file size is 150 MB.

4. The premium account has storage space of up to 5TB. The upload file size is 2GB.

HiDrive

1. Make sure you have read / write permissions before file operations, otherwise MICROchipp may not be able to transfer files to your HiDrive.

2. We are temporarily unable to identify its size.

WebDav

1. The folder cannot contain the following characters:? / \ <> | ": *

2. The file cannot contain the following characters: / \ <> | *

3. The folder / file name cannot start or end with the invalid character "."

4. The folder / file name is limited to 255 characters.

5. Folder / file name cannot be blank - no title.
